Coors Light, a brand of Chicago-based MillerCoors, a joint venture between SABMiller plc and Molson Coors Brewing Co., announced its first-ever seasonal extension: Coors Light Summer Brew. The new beer will be available nationwide while supplies last.

Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, Gatlinburg, Tenn., is throwing its hat into the premium spirits market with the debut of its first barrel-aged premium product: Ole Smoky Charred Moonshine. The initial batch will be available in a limited release nationwide this spring, with only 3,500 cases spread out across 49 states and the rest available exclusively at the Ole Smoky distillery, known as “The Holler.”
In the craft beer segment, hops tend to steal the spotlight when it comes to formulation. They’re prominent within India Pale Ales (IPAs), which is the segment’s top-selling style, according to Information Resources Inc., Chicago. Plus, they’re even measured in most beers by International Bitterness Units (IBUs), which assess the bitterness of a beer as provided by the hops that are infused during brewing.

Deerfield, Ill.-based Beam Inc.’s Skinnygirl Cocktails brand introduced two new low-calorie, ready-to-serve additions to the Margarita category: Skinnygirl Sweet’arita and Skinnygirl Sparkling Margarita.
