Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, Dallas and Miami, unveiled the results of its 2022 Liquid Insights Tour, a coast-to-coast educational initiative designed to explore and identify the latest trends in cocktails and wine. Over the course of 111 days, Brian Masilionis, director of on-premise commercial strategy and national accounts for Southern Glazer’s, led a team of its mixologists to sample more than 400 drinks in 83 restaurants, bars and hotels, compiling their insights to discover emerging cocktail and wine trends across the United States.

Molson Coors to receive BeerBoard’s proprietary data and analytics

Syracuse, N.Y.-based BeerBoard, a leader in technology, insights and automated intelligence for the on-premise hospitality industry, announced it has partnered with Chicago-based Molson Coors Beverage Co., to provide insights and data for on-premise retail locations.
Consumers in the United States are opting to spend more on their drinks in bars and restaurants as premiumization drives the recovery of the on-premise channel after COVID-19. A trend that was paused during the pandemic now is accelerating again, CGA’s exclusive On Premise Measurement (OPM) service shows. The premium price tier of the spirits market took a 40% share of sales by value in February 2022, while super-premium took 18%.
One of the most harshly impacted industries in the early days of the pandemic, on-premise has shown its ability to pivot. Data suggests that the channel has recovered from its early pain points with analysts predicting growth for on-premise.
Analysts note that the craft beer market has rebounded following challenging years, but caution the segment still should be wary of competitive segments.
Despite the greater pressure on production and the potential of shortages, tequila’s production issues have subsided, clearing the way for the spirit to continue its growth on-premise, experts note.
