Frey Farms, Keenes, Ill., announced a brand new line of frozen aquas frescas. Sarah’s Homegrown, named after Sarah Frey, the founder, farmer and chief executive officer of Frey Farms, are made with real fruit and all-natural ingredients, the company says.
Sarah’s Homegrown Aguas Frescas are a nod to the light fruit drink popular throughout Mexico and parts of Latin America, the company says. Frey’s goal was to bring this popular style of beverage to people everywhere but with a twist, as the aquas frescas are made with farm-fresh produce.
Frey Farms was inspired by the recent uptick in the frozen food sales, especially among millennials who value both convenience and whole foods, it says. “We saw an opportunity to reinvent the dying frozen canned concentrate category through the use of higher quality ingredients, creating clean-label products and more convenient packaging,” Frey said in a statement.
Sarah’s Homegrown Aqua Frescas now are available at select Walmart locations in five flavors: Watermelon Cucumber, Strawberry Lemon, Mint Lime Mojito, Mango Pineapple and Pina Colada. The new beverages have a suggested retail price of $4.98 for a 12-ounce pouch.
