In line with consumers’ interest with health and wellness products as well as vegetable flavors, Camden, N.J.-based Campbell Soup Co. introduced in January its new line of V8 Vegetable and Fruit Juice beverages. This month, Beverage Industry readers have shown that they agree that this new product release was on point by voting the product line Beverage Industry’s Readers’ Choice New Product of the Month for March.
Campbell’s V8 Vegetable and Fruit Juice beverages, which garnered 59 percent of the reader vote, features blends of vegetables with a touch of fruit without sugar or artificial ingredients, the company says. The lineup includes Healthy Greens, Purple Power, Golden Goodness and Carrot Mango varieties, which each contain 60 calories or less.
The runners-up products this month play into a different beverage trend, namely convenience. Northfield, Ill.-based Kraft Foods Group Inc.’s Maxwell House Iced Coffee Concentrates came in second with 14 percent of the reader vote, and Seattle-based Starbucks Coffee Co.’s Doubleshot Coffee & Protein ready-to-drink iced coffees came in third with 13 percent.
Kraft Foods Group’s Gevalia Kaffe Iced Coffees with Almond Milk and Inverness-shire, Scotland-based Tomatin Distillery Co. Ltd.’s Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky rounded out the Top 5 with 7 percent and 2 percent of the reader vote, respectively.
