Campari America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Davide Campari-Milano S.p.A., introduced Wild Turkey American Honey Sting liqueur. The spirit combines Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey with honey and ghost pepper, which the company says is 400 times spicier than hot sauce. The honey is able to balance out the heat, resulting in a smooth liquid, it notes. Wild Turkey American Honey Sting capitalizes on increasing consumer interest in hot or spicy foods. Campari America references a recent report by Technomic Inc. that found 54 percent of consumers interested in hot or spicy foods, up 8 percentage points from 2009. The limited-edition spirit contains 35.5 percent alcohol by volume. A 750-ml bottle retails for approximately $22.99.
