SternVitamin GmbH & Co. KG introduced two functional vitamin and mineral premixes at Vitafoods Europe 2014 in Geneva. Its new “Mind Calming” beverage premix features vitamins and botanicals to help consumers stay calm during hectic situations, the company says. The polyphenols and anthocyanins in the elder extract help reduce stress and improve psychological well-being, it notes. In moderate doses, balm extract promotes calmness in stressful situations while also boosting alertness, improving mood and assisting in memory functions, it adds. SternVitamin’s new “Brainpower” beverage premix features vitamins, minerals and green tea extract to help boost concentration and memory. Green tea features theanine, which can counteract psychological and mental stress reactions, the company says. The premix also contains vitamins and minerals that contribute to normal cognitive function, it adds.
