Beer manufacturers rally around Beer Growth Initiative

With dollar sales reaching approximately $112 billion, the U.S. beer market continues to be one of the top categories based on dollar sales in the overall beverage industry. However, although dollar sales have seen slight increases, volume sales have been challenged in recent years. To tackle these challenges, the National Beer Wholesalers Association unveiled the Beer Growth Initiative (BGI), an industry-wide effort to improve the category health of the beer industry.
Natural Light, a brand of St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch, introduced Naturdays, a sessionable light lager brewed with strawberry lemonade flavor, the company says.

Spread Your Wings looks to inspire, empower consumers

D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc., Pottsville, Pa., launched Spread Your Wings, a new brand campaign and tag line designed to engage consumers. The launch of the advertising campaign is the first driven largely by Yuengling's sixth generation: Jen, Debbie, Wendy and Sheryl Yuengling.
Migration trends across the alcohol beverage market have challenged the beer category, which has seen increasing market share competition from the wine and spirits categories.

Budweiser reintroduced its America packaging this summer. Since 2011, when Budweiser unveiled its first stars and stripes can, the brand has “raised a cold one” to summer in celebratory fashion, the company says.
