gets a physical newspaper), my interest was piqued when learning about a new craft beer collaboration.

Gossamer Wings from Honey Tap Brewery named Best Honey Beer

More than 100 entries were submitted to the third annual Honey Beer Competition this year. Gossamer Wings from The Tap Brewery, Bloomington, Ind., took home Best in Show honors at the 2017 competition, hosted by the National Honey Board, Firestone, Colo. This year’s competition had 106 made-with-honey beer entries, which were submitted from craft breweries throughout North America, it says.
EcoFocus Worldwide survey data shows several benefits

In the craft beer segment, glass bottle packaging remains a strong packaging format. With information from an EcoFocus Worldwide survey, the Arlington, Va.-based Glass Packaging Institute created an infographic highlighting the benefits that glass packaging can offer to craft brewers.
For the first time in its 30-year history, Lakefront Brewery is releasing its crowd favorite and No. 1 selling Riverwest Stein Amber Lager in cans, the company says.
Although market reports suggest that the U.S. beer market has stabilized following years of modest declines, the segments that have helped the category suggest that consumer preferences have shifted when purchasing brewed beverages.
Stone Brewing, Escondido, Calif., announced its first quarter results for fiscal 2017, reporting 18 percent growth versus the prior year. The company’s performance is outpacing both the year-to-date grocery craft category growth rate of 4.4 percent and the category’s 52-week growth rate of 6.4 percent, based on Chicago-based Information Resources Inc. (IRI) data, it says.

About 44 percent of the visitors to the last drinktec came from the brewing industry, according to the tradeshow presenter. Between Sept. 11 and 15, those involved in the production of beer can come together for drinktec 2017 at the Messe München exhibition center where they will find all they need to produce excellent beer.
