BeatBox Beverages, Austin, Texas, and Van Holten’s, Waterloo, Wis., have teamed up to launch an unexpected limited-time flavor: Big Papa Pickle Margarita.
This ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail-inspired creation blends the tangy, briny bite of Van Holten’s iconic pickles with a zingy lime and citrus flavor profile, resulting in a surprising bar-inspired blend only BeatBox could deliver, it says. At 11.1% ABV and packaged in BeatBox's signature resealable 500-ml carton, the Margarita is ideal for parties, festivals or sipping solo, it adds.
“BeatBox is all about big flavor and even bigger fun,” said Brad Schultz, co-founder and chief marketing officer at BeatBox, in a statement. “While we usually tap into nostalgia, we couldn’t resist diving headfirst into the pickle craze. This collab with Van Holten’s is unexpected, playful and the big dill energy we love bringing to our fans and retail partners.”
Brianne Covington, director of marketing at Van Holten’s, added: “Pickles aren't just a snack anymore — they’re everywhere. Our Big Papa Pickle has taken on a life of its own, showing up in memes, merch, and viral moments. This mashup delivers the bold flavor and personality fans love, turning everyday moments into something totally shareable.”
The April 1 launch date pays cheeky homage to a past viral prank fooling brand fans into thinking a faux collab dubbed the ‘BeatBon’ was real, the company says. This year, the pickle twist is real.
“We’re always looking for ways to push boundaries and tap into culture,” added Zech Francis, senior vice president of global marketing at BeatBox. “Big Papa Pickle Margarita gave us the perfect opportunity to lean into what our fans and retail partners are craving, sparking both conversation and conversion.”
The limited-edition wine-based Big Papa Pickle Margarita is available now at select retailers across Arizona, California, Minnesota, Nevada and Texas.
