Tequila Herradura announced the U.S. launch of Herradura Blanco, a rare and historic tequila that embodies the roots of Casa Herradura, it says.
Joining the existing Tequila Herradura lineup of Silver, Reposado, Añejo, Ultra, Selección Suprema and Legend, this commemorative release has been crafted at a higher ABV than the rest of the Herradura portfolio at 46% since its origins, the company says. The bottle remains true to its original packaging with a round body and vintage design, symbolizing the brand’s craftsmanship and heritage, it notes. The premium small-batch release encapsulates the legacy of Casa Herradura, boasting a clear liquid with glints of silver featuring sweet and clean notes of cooked agave, spices, pepper and citrus, with a smooth and lingering finish, it says.
First bottled in 1870, Herradura Blanco remained a local Mexican jewel, an elusive acquisition for tequila collectors and a prized possession for bartenders outside of Mexico, according to the company. Crafted with 100% agave, slow cooked in clay ovens and naturally fermented with spontaneous yeast, Herradura Blanco preserves the character of agave, the company says. Before the tequila category was officially established, this product helped define what tequila would become, it adds.
“Herradura Blanco holds a unique place in tequila history,” said Kelley Kerger, senior brand manager of Tequila Herradura in the United States, in a statement. “For nearly a century, this was the only tequila produced at Casa Herradura, shaping not only our heritage but the tequila category as we know it today. By bringing Herradura Blanco to the U.S., we’re sharing a piece of that origin story, inviting consumers to experience an authentic taste of history in every pour.”
Herraura Blanco was the first tequila to bear the iconic Herradura horseshoe emblem on its label, a symbol that has since come to represent unparalleled quality and taste, the company says. With its versatile flavor profile, Herradura Blanco is ideal for crafting cocktails while standing out as an authentic tequila with deep roots, it notes.
Herradura Blanco is available in select markets throughout the United States including Washington, California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts for a suggested retail price of $44.99 a bottle.
