With the rise in retro brand activations and social-media-fueled flavor experimentation, opportunities have emerged for nostalgic flavors, and consumers ― especially millennial and Gen Z consumers ― are seeking beverages that can deliver a little sip of both.

For many, one of the most memorable drinks to order in childhood is a Shirley Temple. While the non-alcohol drink has many variations, the classic form includes crisp bubbles of a non-cola soda and bursts of grenadine syrup, crowned with a shiny maraschino cherry.

7UP is bringing a ready-to-drink version of the beloved classic beverage to retail shelves nationwide this month, for a limited time only and just in time for the holiday season. 7Up Shirley Temple is crafted by the flavor experts at Keurig Dr Pepper, who created a blend of 7UP’s signature citrusy sparkle highlighted by vibrant notes of pomegranate and cherry, the company says.

“Our team loves the challenge of developing and marketing a beverage that evokes a deep sense of nostalgia with a modern twist, and the 7UP Shirley Temple does just that,” said Andrew Springate, chief marketing officer at KDP, in a statement. “Consumers will be delighted by this sweet reminder of the magic of childhood with a contemporary burst of flavorful refreshment.”

7UP Shirley Temple will be available from Oct. 15 until Dec. 31 at mass and grocery retailers nationwide in the United States, while supplies last. It will be sold in 2-liter bottles and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans. Additionally, a Zero Sugar version of the drink will be available in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans.
