Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co. will discontinue production of Spiced, a permanent flavor that was introduced in February of this year. The news was first reported by CNN.
A company spokesperson confirmed the variety’s discontinuation.
“We’re always looking at what our consumers like and adjusting our range of products,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “As part of this strategy, we’re planning to phase out Coca-Cola Spiced to introduce an exciting new flavor in 2025.”
Coca-Cola Spiced was a blend of the iconic taste of Coca-Cola with a burst of notes from raspberry and spiced flavors, the company said at the time of the launch. Additionally the company noted that the flavor was not spicy.
The flavor also was released as part of the brand’s Zero Sugar portfolio.
Despite this removal, the Coca-Cola still remains active in new product development with its recent limited-edition collaboration with OREO and the OREO Coca-Cola Sandwich Cookie and Coca-Cola OREO Zero Sugar Limited Edition releases last month. A Coca-Cola OREO Zero Sugar Slurpee drink also is available for a limited time at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores nationwide.
