Michigan’s largest craft brewery, Bell’s Brewery, announced the expansion of its Oberon brand family with the release of the Oberon Sunshine Shandy variety pack.
The master brewers took inspiration from what consumers love about Oberon, a wheat ale, creating three fruit-forward shandy options, including citrusy lemonade, tart tropical flavors like passionfruit, and subtly sweet cherry limeade. At 4.2% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), Oberon Sunshine is another chance to embrace Oberon season.
“Oberon Sunshine is all about big flavors and summer fun — something Oberon is known for,” said Scott Powell, Bell’s senior director of marketing, in a statement. “We wanted to give consumers a refreshing, easy-drinking shandy to pair perfectly with summer activities.”
By expanding into a shandy, Bell’s can reach new consumers with a flavor-packed twist on a classic that can be enjoyed while supplies last.
“Oberon’s dedicated fans have been asking us to expand the brand for years but growing the Oberon family is something we do very intentionally at Bell’s,” said Carly Davis, brand senior manager, in a statement. “It’s important that any addition can live up to our iconic Oberon Ale, and we wanted to create something for the Bell’s drinker seeking big flavor with a lower ABV and lighter body. Oberon Sunshine accomplishes all those things, and we’re excited to bring our fans something new.”
The variety pack is available nationwide now in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans and on tap at Bell’s Eccentric Café in Kalamazoo.
