U.S. fine wine importer Taub Family Selections and Italian winery Cantina Puiatti announced a brand redesign, including a new logo and fresh packaging for three of their focus offerings: Sauvignon Blanc Friuli DOC, Ribolla Gialla Venezia-Giulia IGP, and Pinot Grigio Friuli DOC.
Puiatti was founded in 1967 by Vittorio Puiatti in the northeastern corner of Italy’s Friuli region. Vittorio was a pioneer of modern winemaking methods and sought to highlight Friuli’s indigenous and international grape varieties by emphasizing their purity; this meant no oak, no over-ripening, no maceration, no inoculation and no oxidation, according to the company. This approach in limiting intervention results in complex wines, which showcase variety, typicity and purity, it notes.
Keeping with the founder’s philosophy, “nature loves simplicity, as simplicity is the form of greatness,” the name and logo change from Puiatti to Cantina Puiatti highlights its evolution as a state-of-the-art winery while continuing to pay homage to its heritage. The result is a sleek, modern logo, distinguished for its elegance and simplicity in today’s winegrowing panorama, according to the company. “Monovarietali” is Cantina Puiatti’s best known line and it is reflected in the newest labels, available in multiple vibrant colors, where the logo and varietal play a starring role. This contemporary approach allows for a more premium shelf presence and easier consumer recognition, it adds.
New packaging for the Cantina Puiatti Sauvignon Blanc Friuli DOC and Ribolla Gialla Venezia-Giulia IGT currently is available nationwide. The winery’s newest offering, Pinot Grigio Friuli DOC, will be available later this summer.
