Waterford Distillery released two new Single Farm Origin whiskies as part of its natural single-malt whisky portfolio. Influenced by winemaker methods, Waterford Distillery focuses on Irish barley, the origin of whisky’s complex flavor, it says. The two additions are Ballymorgan: Edition 1.1 from County Wexford, with its loamy, clay soils derived from slate and granite; and Sheestown: Edition 1.1, grown just outside of Kilkenny in lowland terroir predominantly derived from limestone. Bottled at 50 percent alcohol by volume without coloring, chill-filtration or any additives, each bottle is priced at $79 and will be available in the United States by September.
