Applied Food Sciences (AFS) released CoffeeProtein, a new plant-based protein. The new solution is an organic protein extract from green coffee beans. CoffeeProtein is considered a “whole food protein,” as opposed to an isolate, which means it provides other valuable phytonutrients, such as antioxidants and fiber. CoffeeProtein also is USDA Organic and non-GMO, the company says. CoffeeProtein features a smooth texture and excellent mixability so it can be incorporated into a wide variety of applications, it adds. The ingredient can appear on an ingredient label as “coffee protein.”
