MISCellaneous Distillery released Gertrude’s 100 percent Rye Whisky. The whisky is handmade with 100 percent unmalted rye grown locally in Maryland and milled on a water-wheel powered stone grist mill, the company says. It is then aged in small format barrels for less than one year and contains notes of ripe strawberry and burnt sugar with a black pepper finish, it adds. The 750-ml bottles feature a 50 percent alcohol-by-volume content and is available in select markets for a suggested retail price of $75.00.
