The Double Cola Co. released a limited-edition 12-pack for its citrus soda, SKI brand. Its retro design was voted No. 1 last year by SKI fans through a label design contest that took place on Facebook. The limited-edition packaging will be available for consumers to purchase this summer only. Consumers love the nostalgic design as it reminds them of the original SKI logo developed generations ago, the company says.
Here come the goblins
English cider maker Thatchers is re-launching its Green Goblin Cider to the U.S. market in a new 330-ml bottle, in partnership with Innis & Gunn USA Inc. (IGUSA) seven months after entrusting the craft brewer’s U.S. business with its flagship brand, Thatchers Gold. At 5.0 percent alcohol by volume, Green Goblin Cider is available in on- and off-premise locations in bottles, it is also available on draft. Thatcher’s Green Goblin Cider is available nationally in single 500-ml bottles priced at $3.99, and it costs $8.99 for a four-pack of 330-ml bottles.
Eco-friendly espresso
Lavazza, “Italy’s Favorite Coffee,” introduces the first compostable coffee capsule for Italian espresso in partnership with biochemical corporation, Novamont. The compostable capsule can be disposed of along with other organic waste and processed industrially to become compost. The capsule, compatible with the Lavazza Minù coffee machine, will be available initially in Italy beginning in 2016. It contains two high-quality blends of 100 percent Arabica coffee beans certified by Rainforest Alliance, which verifies the economic, environmental and social sustainability of raw materials.
Complete compatibility
Melitta USA announced that its Melitta Café de Europa gourmet single-serve coffee capsules are now compatible with all Keurig-style machines, including the Keurig 2.0 brewer. The newly compatible single-serve coffee became available in May. The unique capsule design is made with a filter, which allows water to fully saturate the grinds for a bolder, richer cup of coffee. Designed with the environment in mind, Melitta’s single-serve coffees also are eco-friendly and 100 percent recyclable.
A better reflection
DRY tastemakers of gourmet sparking beverages, unveiled a new look for its line of craft beverages designed to better reflect the brand’s premium flavor profiles and upscale, culinary taste experience. The packaging redesign, which debuted at Natural Products Expo West in early March, includes an updated logo, modern typography, realistic photography and ingredient-specific design elements.
