New York-based Vita Coco announced the departure of Jeff B. Popkin, the company’s president for the U.S. Popkin joined Vita Coco in September 2011 as vice president of sales and was promoted to president for the US in August 2012.
“We want to thank Jeff Popkin for his contributions to the brand’s North American growth the past 3 and a half years, and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Vita Coco Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Michael Kirban in a statement.
Prior to Vita Coco, Popkin worked at New York-based Red Bull North America for three years, where he oversaw a 650-employee distribution organization and lead revenue growth in his territory from $200 million to more than $500 million in 18 months, Vita Coco says. Before that, Popkin was chief executive officer of beer distribution company Keg1 LLC. Popkin’s career also includes senior management and sales positions at alcohol and non-alcohol brands, including Coors Brewing Co. and Mike’s Hard Lemonade.
