Ingredion Inc. introduced Bioligo GL 5700 IMF galacto-oligosaccharides (GOSs), a new prebiotic ingredient. GOSs are some of the most studied oligosaccharides in the world and provide numerous digestive and immune health benefits, the company says. The introduction of Bioligo GOSs provides infant formula, functional food, beverage and dietary supplement manufacturers with a new, safe, high-quality source of prebiotic soluble fiber to enhance the nutritional profile of their products. Bioligo GL 5700 IMF is made from food-grade lactose; it comes in the form of a syrup and contains a minimum of 57 percent GOS on a dry basis. It is stable in high-temperature processes and low-pH applications, making it suitable for a range of formulations from shelf-stable beverages and juices to nutritional bars and supplements, the company adds.
