Fort Collins, Colo.-based New Belgium Brewing signed deals with nine wholesale partners to distribute its beer in Ohio starting Dec. 16. New Belgium’s 22-ounce Fat Tire, Ranger India Pale Ale (IPA), seasonal release Accumulation White IPA and Lips of Faith beers will be available throughout the state as a result of the new partnerships. Some draught offerings might come online in the initial rollout as well.
“We’re excited about Ohio,” said New Belgium Sales Co-Pilot Brian Krueger in a statement. “This has been long in the works, and now that expansion projects have brought on additional capacity here in Fort Collins, the time is right.”
The New Belgium Ohio partners include Superior Beverage Group, Heidelberg Distributing Co., Stagnaro Distributing Co., Bonbright Distributors Inc., Classic Brands of Ohio, Choice Beverage, Matesich Distributing Co., Muxie Distributing Co. and Spriggs Distributing Co.
New Belgium also is planning to release its portfolio-wide packaging refresh in Ohio this December, pending final approval by the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. The new look will enter all other markets in January 2014.
