iTi Tropicals added a puree of Asian fruit rambutan, which the company describes as being related to lychee, to its ingredients portfolio. Rambutan has a sweet taste, is rich in vitamin C, and contains potassium, iron and vitamin A, the company says. iTi Tropicals recommends the fruit as a substitute for lychee as well as in smoothies and 100 percent juice applications in addition to other food options. Its rambutan puree is processed from rambutan fruit pulp that is sorted, washed and peeled. The puree is processed under good manufacturing practices in Thailand, including kosher certification, and is free of any additives or preservatives, the company says.
