The Boston Beer Co. added a new stout variety to its line of winter beers. Appearing in the Samuel Adams Winter Classics Variety Pack is Samuel Adams Black & Brew Coffee Stout, a dark beer that combines roasted coffee with the traditional flavors of a rich, full-bodied stout, the company says. Brewers add 1.5 pounds of Sumatran coffee beans into each barrel late in the brewing process to provide as much coffee flavor as possible. The stout finishes with notes of chocolate, caramel and dark fruit from a select blend of malts, the company says. Samuel Adams Black & Brew Coffee Stout will be available through January for a suggested retail price of $13.99 for a 12-pack.
