Monk fruit concentrate helps brand reduce sugar by average of 40%

Capri Sun, a brand of Kraft Heinz Co., Chicago, announced the roll-out of its original juice drink pouches with an average of 40% less sugar than the current product. Each single serving now will have on average, 8 grams of total sugars and 5 gram of added sugars. All flavors will hit retailer shelves this August in new packaging highlighting the reduction.

CAPRI SUN has released a video clip showing kids tasting their new release for the first time: purified water, in its traditional style of juice pouch.
After several years of declining sales, refrigerated orange juices, fruit juices and lemonades are experiencing upticks of 7.1 percent, 6.2 percent and 8.8 percent, respectively. Yet, the juice and juice drinks category is experiencing its share of twists and turns as health-conscious consumers are turning away from traditional juices with high sugar content and seeking lower-sugar options.
New Haven, Conn.-based FreshBev, producers of RIPE Craft Juices, announced that it is expanding its portfolio of fresh juices while also bringing them to new markets.
Bethesda, Md.-based Honest Tea, a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, unveiled its reformulated Honest Kids “fruit-juice sweetened” line of beverages. All five varieties of the juice pouches have been reformulated to remove the organic cane sugar and increase the juice content. Honest Kids beverages now have between 30 and 42 percent juice, an increase by 12 to 26 percentage points, depending on the variety. Nutritionally, the drinks remain at 40 calories for each 6.75-fluid-ounce pouch.
