New beverages reflect new dietary guidelines for reduced sugar

Old Orchard Brands, Sparta, Mich., expanded its Healthy Balance line of reduced-sugar juice drinks to include two new tropical flavors that fit within the U.S. Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee's dietary recommendation for a massive reduction in daily sugar intake.
Campbell’s V8 Vegetable and Fruit Juices claims 59 percent of votes

In line with consumers’ interest with health and wellness products as well as vegetable flavors, Camden, N.J.-based Campbell Soup Co. introduced in January its new line of V8 Vegetable and Fruit Juice beverages. This month, Beverage Industry readers have shown that they agree that this new product release was on point by voting the product line Beverage Industry’s Readers’ Choice New Product of the Month for March.
The Brewers Association, Boulder, Colo., released its annual list of the Top 50 craft and overall brewing companies in the United States based on beer sales volume. Of the top 50 overall brewing companies, 42 were craft brewing companies.

Atlanta-based TheCoca-Cola Co. is bringing back its Share a Coke campaign this summer following a successful run last year. Beginning this week, the company will once again swap out its iconic logo on 20-ounce bottles of Coca-Cola, Diet Cokeand Coca-Cola Zerofor 1,000 of the most popular names in the country, quadrupling the number of names featured in 2014, the company says.
Kalaheo, Hawaii-based KonaRed Corp. reported an 80 percent increase in consumer product sales plus delivery revenues to nearly $1.1 million for 2014, compared with nearly $605,000 the previous year. Net sales for the company, which includes consumer product sales, delivery fees and raw material ingredient sales, increased 39 percent to nearly $1.3 million, compared with nearly $906 million in 2013.
