The Sazerac Co., Louisville, Ky., has completed the purchase of a number of brands from Star Industries, Syosset, N.Y., and Black Prince Distillery, Clifton, N.J.  

Vintage Wine Estates, Santa Rosa, Calif., has appointed Jeff Nicholson to the new role of chief operating officer. Most recently, Nicholson was an operating partner at AGR Partners. AGR Partners is an investment firm dedicated to food and agribusiness who acquired a minority equity stake in Vintage Wine Estates in April 2018. Nicholson will continue to be on the Advisory Board for AGR Partners.

Bodega Luigi Bosca | Familia Arizu, Mendoza, Argentina, announced that it has received a strategic investment from the Latin American fund of L Catterton, a global consumer-focused private equity firm.

Suerte Tequila released its annual, limited-edition extra añejo tequila: Lucky Lips. 

Maggie’s Farm Distillery introduced its newest spirit: Pineapple Rum, which is infused with fresh, whole pineapples. 

Knob Creek Distillery, a brand of Beam Suntory Inc., released a new holiday whiskey offering: Knob Creek Twice Barreled Rye. 

Strongbow Hard Ciders, a brand of White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA Inc., announced the launch of 100-calorie, 8.5-ounce slim cans in a 12-can variety pack with three flavor varietals. Available beginning January 2019, the Strongbow 100-calorie slim cans are positioned at the intersection of hard cider, canned wine and hard seltzer to offer alternative refreshment, the company says.

Surf City Still Works introduced its latest product: California Gin.

Knappogue Castle, a brand of Castle Brands Inc., launched a 12 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey, the first of its new Cask Finish Series.
