SunnyD X energizing juice drink offers energy without caffeine

Sunny Delight Beverages Co., Cincinnati, announced the test market launch of SunnyD X, a carbonated juice drink designed as an alternative to energy drinks. Available in Orange, Lemon Lime and Fruit Punch flavors, the beverage lineup offers energy from B vitamins and carbohydrates instead of caffeine.
Monster Beverage Corp., Corona, Calif., reported a more than 10 percent increase in gross sales to nearly $614 million in the first quarter of 2014, which ended March 31. Net sales in the term also increased by more than 10 percent to $536 million, and gross profit reached 53.5 percent of net sales.

Hydrive Energy Water, a brand of Austin, Texas-based Big Red Inc., launched two new flavors: Honey Lemonade and Mango Peach. Each of the new flavors contains energy-boosting caffeine, enhanced nutritive formulas, and 30 calories in each bottle, the company says.

OrganicMe, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based subsidiary of True Me Brands, launched four new functional beverages that span multiple occasions and need states throughout the day, the company says. U.S. Department of Agriculture-certified organic and 100 percent natural, the drinks are packaged in 12-ounce Sleek cans from Chicago-based Rexam BCNA.

Amp Energy, a brand of Purchase, N.Y.-based PepsiCo Inc., teamed up with professional racecar driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. to develop a new sour-grape-flavored energy drink called Dale Jr. Sour.
Marquis Beverages introduced a line of Marquis O3 lightly carbonated energy drinks made with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified organic ingredients.
