American consumers are thirsting for water like never before. Growing trends such as higher-priced single-serve packaging are helping to offset rising costs of coffee beans in the coffee market, according to market research analysts.
Celestial Seasonings Inc., a brand of The Hain Celestial Group Inc., Boulder Colo., announced that nine of its teas, including Sleepytime Herbal Tea,– have received Non-GMO Project Verification. This announcement is the first step in an ongoing process through which the brand intends to achieve Non-GMO Project Verification for all of its bagged specialty teas, the company says.
The Republic of Tea released three new herbal iced teas: Sonoma Chardonnay, Sonoma Rosé and Sonoma Cabernet, all of which are made from fine wine grape skins from the Sonoma County wine region in Northern California.
For centuries, hot tea has been lauded as a healthy beverage due to its antioxidant content. These antioxidants are said to help boost metabolism and even fight cancer, according to a December 2014 report from IBISWorld, Los Angeles, titled "RTD Tea Production in the U.S."
