New Haven, Conn.-based FreshBev, producers of RIPE Craft Juices, announced that it is expanding its portfolio of fresh juices while also bringing them to new markets.

Health and wellness remains an overarching driving factor in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) market today. As such, consumers have increasingly grown cautious of the products that they put in their bodies, with a growing number avoiding sugar-sweetened beverages. But one brand is tackling this issue by trying to reinvent the juice category.

In an effort to encourage consumers to add more joy and wellness to their life, Evolution Fresh, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seattle-based Starbucks Coffee Co., has declared Jan. 26 as the first-ever National Green Juice Day. To celebrate, Evolution Fresh is teaming up with on-demand delivery service Postmates to deliver free Green Juice Breaks, a three-pack of 15.2-ounce, cold-pressed, high-pressure processed (HPP) Sweet Greens and Lemon juices, to consumers in 15 cities, the company says. 

The movement to become closer to one’s food source and consumers craving more healthful food and beverage options have buoyed the growth of the $53.5 billion natural and organic business, according to Rockville, Md.-based Packaged Fact’s July 2014 report titled “Natural and Organic Foods and Beverages in the U.S., 4th Edition.”

Temple Turmeric, New York, unveiled two new seasonal offerings: Pure Fire Cider Super Tonic and Holiday Spiced Lassi Culture Blend. Inspired by ancient recipes and powered by the brand’s proprietary Hawaiian Oana Turmeric, both recipes are designed to help support positive inflammation response and balance the body’s digestive system with vegan probiotics, the company says.
