Dynamic Food Ingredients, Mitr Phol Group partner in natural sweetener solutions

Paul Magnotto, founder and chief executive officer of Chaska, Minn.-based Dynamic Food Ingredients, and Krisda Monthienvichienchai, chief executive officer of Mitr Phol Group, Bangkok, China, jointly announced that the companies have reached a strategic investment and partnership agreement to expand production of their natural sweeteners: erythritol and xylitol.
With the release of the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans earlier this year followed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s new Nutrition Facts label, many changes are instore for consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers.

Coca-Cola Life, a reduced-calorie carbonated soft drink (CSD) sweetened with cane sugar and stevia leaf extract, will arrive in the United States this week, according to an Aug. 22 blog post by The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta.
Building upon its full-calorie Astro Pop Soda line, which reflects its retro Astro Pop lollipop, Leaf Brands LLC introduced naturally sweetened, zero-calorie versions of the sodas.

Cargill introduced its ViaTech line of stevia-based sweeteners. The new sweetener line enables beverage-makers to achieve optimal sweet taste at high use levels, which has been a limitation with previous stevia-based products, the company says.
The Veri Soda Co. launched a line of Veri Organic sodas that are low in calories, free of GMOs, and certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Organic Program.
