PepsiCo’s new premium bottled water brand LIFEWTR partnered with traveling night club, Club Nomadic, for Super Bowl 2017. On Feb. 3, during Super Bowl Week in Houston, the brand hosted “Art After Dark,” an entertainment experience fusing music, technology and art, the company says.
Although I regularly use Facebook, like many baby boomers, I am not currently immersed in Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms that increasingly are being used by beverage companies to communicate and connect with consumers in real time.
It’s an exciting time for those who love technology. As new advancements are released, it’s also exciting to see how they are impacting marketing. Alcohol and non-alcohol brands, alike, have been utilizing various digital platforms to educate, communicate and market to consumers. Recently, one particular effort caught my eye.

Dunkin' Donuts, Canton, Mass., announced that it is the first national coffee chain to enable gifting and payment within Messages in iOS 10. Dunkin' Donuts fans now can access the Dunkin' Mobile App through the App Store for iMessage to deliver mobile Dunkin' Donuts gift cards to friends, family and colleagues as quickly and simply as sending an emoji, it says.

Tecate, a Mexican import beer brand of White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA, is encouraging boxing fans of legal drinking age to elevate their viewing occasions by choosing the bold taste of Tecate for the season’s big fights in its newest marketing campaign, the company says. Running from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, Tecate’s We’ve Got Your Back program, featuring national TV spots, on- and off-premise activation, digital partnerships and a daily sweepstakes, will bring boxing fans together to celebrate leading up to the main events, it adds.

Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin’ Donuts announced a program to give new members of its DD Perks Rewards Program the chance to score some extra perks. This week, Dunkin' Donuts, in partnership with Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co., is offering consumers who join the program the opportunity to win tickets to one of several COPA America Centenario soccer matches, also known as football, the company says.
Last month, an article by Brigid Sweeney for Crain’s Chicago Business titled “For Meijer, bigger is better,” caught my attention. Not far from my family’s new home, they are closing in on the final stages of completing a Meijer store; so needless to say, my curiosity was more than piqued.
