Chicago-based Coors announced that this summer, the beer brand also wants to refresh the Great Lakes. For every case of 12-ounce cans sold this summer in select states, Coors Light will donate 25 cents to the Alliance for the Great Lakes, a nonprofit organization devoted to ensuring a healthy Great Lakes for people and wildlife for future generations, up to a maximum of $60,000, the company says. The Coors Light "keep 'em great" campaign will run through the end of August in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Food and beverage companies continue to show their philanthropic sides through donations to disaster relief and humanitarian efforts to support victims of the Nepal-area earthquake on Saturday, April 25.
Celestial Seasonings, a subsidiary of Melville, N.Y.-based The Hain Celestial Group Inc., hosted its second annual B Strong Ride cycling event Aug. 11 to raise money for local and national cancer organizations.
As part of its second-quarter grants, the philanthropic arm of Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co., The Coca-Cola Foundation, awarded $1.25 million to the United Services Organization’s (USO) Operation Enduring Care program.
