Surf City Still Works launched Pierside Bourbon, a bourbon whiskey that pays homage to the surfers and oilfield roughnecks of Huntington Beach, Calif., the company says. 

Sugarlands Distilling Co., in partnership with country music artist Cole Swindell, released Cole Swindell’s Peppermint Moonshine. 

The Bardstown Bourbon Co. (BBCo), Bardstown, Ky., announced that Grain & Barrel Spirits, the maker of pre-prohibition brand Chicken Cock Whiskey, has joined BBCo’s Collaborative Distilling Program. Grain & Barrel will work with BBCo to produce custom bourbon and whiskey for the Chicken Cock brand, which dates back to 1856. BBCo and Grain & Barrel concluded their first distillation of 616 barrels at the end of August.

Premium gin brand Caorunn, released a new bottle design for the U.S. market, featuring the spirit’s roots with sleek aesthetics, the company says.

White Plains, New York-based Jägermeister Liqueur released “Mini Meisters,” 20-ml Jägermeister mini-shots. Mini Meisters will be available nationwide and sold in a 10-shots-to-go pack, the company says.

Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. launched three Absinthe variations made with vapor distilled lavender petals, citrus peels and freshly chopped ginger. 

Within the wine and spirits categories, dark spirits and sparkling wines are leading growth, according to analysts.

Three of the top five fastest-growing spirits brands are vodkas, but whiskey is the category with the most momentum, according to the 2015 SpiritsTAB Report from Chicago-based Technomic Inc.
