The Duckhorn Portfolio announced the launch of Decoy Featherweight Chardonnay, the second varietal of the brand’s lower-alcohol and lower-calorie Decoy Featherweight line.
At 80 calories in each serving with an alcohol content of 9%, the 2023 Featherweight Chardonnay is a nod to Decoy’s dedication to making wines that are both elegant and approachable within the growing “better-for-you” category, it says. Crafted from the same premium fruit and blend as the popular Decoy Chardonnay, Featherweight Chardonnay showcases bright Fuji apple and tangerine with lively aromas of crisp apple and citrus zest, making it a refreshing and versatile choice for any occasion, it adds.
“Every Decoy vintage is carefully crafted to highlight the essence of our California vineyards,” said Dana Epperson, head winemaker at Decoy, in a statement. “The 2023 Featherweight Chardonnay reflects the continued consumer demand for lower-in-calorie and lower-in-alcohol wine offerings while capturing the spirit of California Chardonnay — bright, fresh and balanced. We’re eager to expand our Featherweight line just in time for spring to provide another way for consumers to enjoy life’s lighter moments.”
The 2023 Decoy Featherweight Chardonnay is available for purchase for $20 a bottle at retailers across the United States. Featherweight Chardonnay also is available to ship nationally and can be found online at the brand’s website.
