This year’s SupplySide West featured 19,000 registered participants. The show took place in Las Vegas from Oct. 28 through Oct. 31 and featured more than 1,500 exhibitors from more than 80 countries around the world. SupplySide West aims to connect buyers and suppliers from various sectors, including food and beverage, and allows attendees to discover advanced ingredients and technologies, engage with others in their respective industries and gain insights shaping the future of the industry.
Among the participating exhibitors at this year’s show were the following:
Bioenergy Life Science Inc. showcased new ingredients and hosted giveaways at its booth. It launched RiboVite, a patent-pending synergistic blend of D-Ribose and B vitamins. Two of the company’s ingredients, RiaGev and RiaGev-WS, were selected as finalists for Ingredient Idol, and were featured at the booth.
Cargill’s booth featured innovative ingredients that support sugar reduction, functional benefits, plant-based formulation and more. The company also provided samples of on-trend prototypes for beverages and supplements. Cargill experts were available for networking and problem-solving opportunities as well.
Kyowa Hakko USA showcased research further validating its citicoline, Cognizin. The research highlights the neuroprotective effects of Cognizin and emphasizes its potential to enhance cognitive function and support healthy brain aging. The ingredient was featured in XPO NRG, a limited-edition energy drink made exclusively for SupplySide West 2024 that was available at the company’s booth.
MarketPlace unveiled a new research storefront, Nextin. The storefront’s research is both conducted and analyzed through the lens of MarketPlace’s engagement throughout the business-to-business (B2B) commercialization and supply chain process, as well as through consumer markets. The company says Nextin Reseearch is an answer to the demand for forward-looking industry and consumer data and insights.
Nexira announced that it joined the United Nations Global Compact Initiative, a volunteer leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of reasonable business practices. Nexira is an independent and family-owned company with a focus on preserving acacia forests. It has mobilized into the Acacia Program that combines economic and social development for local populations in addition to environmental protection to prevent deforestation.
NutriLeads highlighted its advancements in precision prebiotics, discussing its findings from clinical and preclinical studies from the year. Aside from the studies, NutriLeads offered visitors Benicaros-infused gummies. Benicaros is the company’s precision prebiotic that aims to strengthen gut health.
PLT Health Solutions launched three new ingredients. The ingredient offers were relevant in the men’s health, sports/active nutrition and energy categories. All ingredients are supported by critical science and most are considered to be beverage-friendly as PLT works to expand its beverage ingredient portfolio, it says.
Synergy emphasized its commitment to daily wellness. It featured trending flavor profiles and new takes on daily wellness food and drinks. The company offered ready-to-mix protein shakes and superfood blends to attendees who stopped by the booth.
Virginia Dare celebrated the opening of its new facility. The flavor company recently relocated its headquarters from Brooklyn to Carteret, N.J. Double the size of the previous facility, the new headquarters features a dedicated customer lab, a sensory center for new product testing, and a tasting booth to gather flavor insights.
The next SupplySide West will take place in 2025 from Oct. 27 to 30 in Las Vegas.
