Paquera, an award-winning artisanal mezcal cooperative from Oaxaca, released two new products: Mezcal Ancestral with Wagyu and Mezcal Artesanal with Mango.

Similar to a pechuga, Paquera uses open-range Tajima Wagyu from Arrington Ranch in Twin Bridges, Mont., to create the Ancestral Mezcal with Wagyu, it says. The Wagyu is wrapped in twine and suspended within the clay pots during the first part of the distillation process, it notes. The Wagyu flavors slowly drip into the clay pot during this mezcal production process, creating an amazing buttery finish, it adds.

A seasonal release, the Mezcal Artesanal with Mango uses two different types of mangoes from Amatengo Ejutia and made with Capón Espadin agave, the company notes. Keeping to strict artisanal mezcal production methods, these mezcals have been created from a methodology perfected by generations of dedicated family artisans, it says.

The limited-edition Mezcal Ancestral with Wagyu has a 48% ABV for a suggested retail price of $230 and Mezcal Artesanal with Mango has a 46% ABV for a suggested retail price of $109.
