Charles Ross & Son introduces its new skid system: the Model VSL-400. The Model VSL-400 features a 400-gallon mixing and pumping skid system, which is designed to mix and pump low- to moderately-high viscous products. The custom conical vessel on a movable skid features a progressive cavity pump rated for 10-30 gallons a minute. A 5HP inverter-duty motor drives a flange-mounted turbine mixer equipped with two axial flow impellers. Designed with batch uniformity in mind, the 34-inch diameter upper blade and an 18-inch diameter lower blade help maintain batch uniformity from the start to the finish of the pumping sequence, according to the company. The mixer and pump are controlled from a NEMA 4 weather-proof control panel which includes a thermal protection system that disengages the pump motor if a set temperature is exceeded.
