Proteau announces the release of its non-alcoholic botanical aperitif, Ludlow Red, which has the same level of culinary intrigue as a beverage with alcohol, except without the alcohol, the company says. Created by John deBary, the former bar director for the Momofuku Restaurant Group, Proteau’s Ludlow Red is a blend of blackberry juice, fig vinegar, licorice root, roasted dandelion root, chamomile, rose, hibiscus, black pepper, chrysanthemum and honeysuckle. It is designed to be sipped and is available in 750-ml bottles, including a limited-edition two-pack for a suggested retail price of $70.
