At BrauBeviale 2019 in Nuremberg, Germany, Viessmann Manufacturing Co. Inc. highlighted its complete system solutions for the economical supply of steam and heat for the brewing and beverage industry. In addition to showcasing its Vitomax steam and hot water boilers and system components, the company debuted its digitalization for brewing 4.0. The Industrial Cockpit, a tool for digital plant monitoring and the company’s newest innovation, provides a stable brewing process by enabling brewers to easily monitor their energy supply without having to attend to the boilers several times a day, the company says. The digital visualization tool enables trouble-free and efficient operation of the boiler plant. It is available in two versions: the Cockpit Basic Package, which provides a simple display of the plant parameters and enables preset, standardized trends such as flow and return temperatures to be monitored; and the Cockpit Pro Package, which goes beyond data and trend analyses with an alarm feature that can be issued if defined limits are exceeded or not reached. The operator then is able to use the data to optimize the plant settings, therefore minimizing operating costs and downtimes, it adds.
