Laphroaig Distillery launched its latest limited-edition offering: Laphroaig Cairdeas Triple Wood Scotch Whisky. The Scotch whisky first is matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then saturated with flavor in smaller quarter casks, and finished in European oak casks that previously housed Oloroso sherry, giving the expression a sweet and smooth finish, the company says. It then is filtered and bottled at cask strength to create a punchy dram with Laphroaig’s signature richness of flavor and smoky taste, it adds. Bottled at 59.5 percent alcohol by volume, Laphroaig Cairdeas Triple Wood Scotch Whisky is available at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $79.99 for a 750-ml bottle.
