Phoenix-based Shamrock Farms announced it has partnered with professional basketball player DeAndre Ayton, who was the No. 1 overall draft pick out of the University of Arizona, the company says. Ayton will represent the company’s Rockin’ brand of protein-milk beverages and be featured in Shamrock advertising, social media and public relation campaigns.
As a freshman at the University of Arizona last season, Ayton was one of three players in the nation to end the regular season averaging 20 or more points, and 10 or more rebounds in a game, the company says.
"To compete against some of the best athletes means being at the top of my game," Ayton said in a statement. "Rockin' Protein helps me build and maintain muscle, boosts my recovery and it's delicious. I'm excited to be working with Shamrock Farms and to be an official member of Team Rockin'."
The addition of Ayton helps expand Shamrock Farms' and Rockin' Protein's longtime affiliation with the University of Arizona, after announcing a new partnership with Arizona Athletics in September, the company says.
Rockin' Protein is the official protein beverage of the Wildcats, while Shamrock Farms is its official milk partner, it adds.
"We're excited to welcome DeAndre to Team Rockin' and the Shamrock Farms family, he's the perfect addition," said Ann Ocaña, chief marketing officer for Shamrock Farms, in a statement. "We're proud to support a hometown athlete like DeAndre because he's awesome both on and off the court. We're looking forward to a great partnership."
