Heaven Hill Brands, Bardstown, Ky., announced the launch of Christian Brothers Apple, the third flavor extension in the growing Christian Brothers Brandy line. The newest addition builds off the fast-growing apple flavor and successes of CB Honey and Peach, the company says.
CB Apple combines real, natural apple with Christian Brothers Brandy, distilled from premium grape varietals and aged in hand-selected oak barrels, the company says. The company notes that apple-flavored spirits alone accounted for $350 million of annual sales, according to 2015 Nielsen data. Likewise, flavored whiskey is expected to grow 40 percent to nearly 9 million cases in 2015, according to Impact Newsletter, the company adds.
“CB Apple is a classic from its core, integrating a storied brandy with an innovative flavor profile that has proven successful across other spirits categories,” said Brand Manager MaryCrae Guild in a statement. “Leading off the success of CB Honey and Peach, CB Apple is a natural extension for Christian Brothers Brandy as more consumers seek new flavor varieties.”
Marketing materials will utilize the Christian Brothers’ “CB & …” tagline by adding “CB &…a taste of apple,” the company says. The 35 percent alcohol-by-volume Christian Brothers Apple is available nationally in 50-ml, 375-ml and 750-ml bottles at a suggested retail price of $10.99 for a 750-ml bottle.
