Following her record-breaking performances at the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships and the U.S. National Championships, Simone Biles has entered into a partnership with Core Power.
A brand of Chicago-based fairlife LLC, Core Power signed the U.S. gymnast as the newest member of its Everyday Awesome team of athletes. Biles will head Core Power's team of Olympic hopefuls, which also includes Paralympic athlete Blake Leeper and wrestler Kyle Dake.
Core Power will showcase Biles and her road to make the U.S. Olympics team throughout 2016 through advertising, in-store displays, point-of-purchase materials and social media, the company says.
At just 18 years of age, Biles already is one of the most decorated women in gymnastics history, the company says. In November, she became the first woman to win three consecutive world championships. She has won the most world championship gold medals (10) of any female gymnast in history, is the first woman to have captured four gold medals at a single world championships (2014 and 2015) since 1974, and is undefeated in the all-around competition since 2013, it says. Biles also was honored as the "Sportswoman of the Year" by the Women's Sports Foundation in 2014 and recently was named the 2015 USOC Female Olympic Athlete of the Year. Biles currently is in training for the 2016 Olympic Games this summer in Rio.
"I spend a lot of time in the gym training and Core Power is a great fit for my nutritional needs," Biles said in a statement. "For me to compete at the highest level, training and living a healthy lifestyle is an everyday focus for me, and I'm excited to be a part of the Everyday Awesome team."
Steve Jones, chief executive officer of fairlife LLC added: "When I think of why we created this product and who we created it for, there's no better person to represent Core Power than Simone Biles. The hours of training over the past 12 years have made her the breakthrough athlete that she is today — and that's something we celebrate and spotlight at Core Power. At fairlife we believe that hard work, enthusiasm and passion pay off in the long run when it comes to reaching goals. Simone Biles personifies all of that. Period."
The Olympic hopeful team of Biles, Leeper and Dake complement Core Power's existing team of Everyday Awesome athletes, which includes Dallas Quarterback Tony Romo, Charlotte Hornets’ Point Guard Kemba Walker, New York Rangers’ Captain Ryan McDonagh and fitness trainer and motivator Shaun T.
