Saint Arnold Brewing Co. released the latest edition in its small-batch series of barrel-aged beers: Bishop's Barrel No. 9. The imperial pumpkin stout, which uses Saint Arnold Pumpkinator as a base, offers tastes reminiscent of fall and is aged for seven months in Woodford Reserve and Willett Bourbon barrels in the brewery's climate-controlled Barrel Room. The new craft beer offers a dark brown to black color with a tan head; scents of pumpkin spice with oak, bourbon, vanilla and dark fruit; and tastes of sweet chocolate and pumpkin spice with a bit of alcohol heat and spices, the company says. Like other beers in the series, Bishop's Barrel No. 9 is only available in pubs and restaurants throughout Texas and Louisiana in 12-ounce bottles and on draft.
