U.S. consumers have shown how enthusiastic they are about Blue Chair Bay Coconut Spiced Rum Cream. The import brand of Rochester, N.Y.-based Fishbowl Spirits that was created and owned by country music star Kenny Chesney announced that the limited-edition variety sold out nationwide.
“As our portfolio of beach-made and aged premium-blended rums continues to grow, so does the popularity of the rums themselves,” said Mark Montgomery, chief executive officer of Fishbowl Sprits, in a statement. “The success of Coconut Spiced Rum Cream is the latest example of fans embracing the island lifestyle embodied and inspired by Kenny Chesney, kicking up warm ocean breezes even on chilly winter nights.”
Beverage Industry readers also have an affinity for the spiced rum variety as it garnered 53 percent of the vote in the magazine’s November Readers’ Choice Product of the Month poll. The spirit features notes of toasted coconut infused with vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, the company says.
Sparkling Ice Tea, a variety of Talking Rain Beverage Co., also was a popular new release with 14 percent of readers voting for the Sparkling Ice brand extension. New York-based Vodka Mariette Ltd.’s new line of namesake premium vodkas wasn’t far behind with 12 percent of the vote.
Rounding out the Top 5 were Chicago-based Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co.’s seasonal variety Mike’s Harder Apple Firebomb with 7 percent, and Ventura County-Calif.-based KeVita Inc.’s Cleansing Probiotic Tonics at 5 percent.
