Barnie's CoffeeKitchen, Orlando, Fla., launched a new line of Keurig-compatible, single-serve coffees called CupUp. CupUp capsules brew a café-quality cup of coffee with 30 percent more coffee than other brands, the company says.
The new capsules also include a patent-pending channel design that increases water circulation, producing a finer extraction of aroma and flavor, according to Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen. This new technology, combined with the additional amount of coffee, yields a cup of coffee that exceeds the gold cup standard, an internationally recognized quality measure, it says.
CupUp now is available in Barnie's Blend, Café Au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée and Santa's White Christmas varieties at more than 1,300 Hannaford and Food Lion supermarkets throughout the eastern United States and online at www.barniescoffeekitchen.com.
"With CupUp, Barnie's CoffeeKitchen has created a truly outstanding coffee product, exceeding the quality standards as defined by coffee experts worldwide," said Jonathan Smiga, chief executive officer of Barnie's CoffeeKitchen, in a statement. "Coffee drinkers are tired of settling for a mediocre cup of coffee at the cost of convenience and personal choice. Now CupUp provides a solution, brewing the highest-quality cup of coffee on the market in the single-serve format."
