Crimson Wine Group is taking wine blends to the next level with its new Luminary Red Blend. The wine consists of red wine varietals sourced from four different regions in two states. The blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Pine Ridge Vineyards in Napa Valley, Calif.; Syrah from Double Canyon in Horse Heaven Hills, Wash.; Syrah from Chamisal Vineyards in Edna Valley, Calif.; and Zinfandel from Seghesio Family Vineyards in Alexander Valley, Calif. As a result, Luminary showcases the regions that offer the best representation of their respective varietals, the company says. Only 2,300 cases of the inaugural 2012 vintage were produced. A 750-ml bottle retails for approximately $45.
