Following strong sales earlier this year, MillerCoors decided to make its Miller Lite Original Lite can a permanent package for the brand, according to a brand representative. The company launched the Original Lite can in 12-, 16- and 24-ounce sizes on Jan. 1 and originally expected to only offer the package through March. The Original Lite Can is an updated version of the iconic packaging that was launched almost 40 years ago and includes images of hops and barley and the words “a fine pilsner beer,” which reinforce the high-quality ingredients and the unique brewing process that consumers have enjoyed for generations, the company says. The Original Lite Can also appeared in Paramount Pictures’ “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” The news team can be seen enjoying the Original Lite in the film, which was released nationwide Dec. 18.
