Following the successful launch of Christian Brothers (CB) Honey flavored brandy in 2011, Bardstown, Ky.-based Heaven Hill Distilleries Inc. now has introduced CB Peach. This new flavored brandy also builds on the growth of peach flavors in the distilled spirits industry, the company says. In fact, peach is the No. 1 flavor introduced since 2013, with more than 70 percent of new products featuring the flavor, it says citing data from Beverage Information Group, Norwalk, Conn.
The company also reports that flavored vodkas account for more than 30 percent of the vodka category’s market share, according to Beverage Information Group. Likewise, flavored whiskey sales have doubled since June 2013, it says, citing New York-based Nielsen data. Since 2013, CB Honey has grown more than 26 percent as consumers seek easy-to-drink products, it adds.
“Christian Brothers is a true innovator with flavor introductions,” said Brittany Capito, senior brand manager for the Christian Brothers franchise, in a statement. “We are excited to add the second flavor to an emerging and exciting category which holds tremendous growth potential.”
CB Peach infuses Christian Brothers VS Brandy with peach flavors and contains 35 percent alcohol by volume. It is available in 50-, 375- and 750-ml bottles, with a suggested retail price of $10.99 for a 750-ml bottle.
Marketing materials will utilize the Christian Brothers “CB & …” tagline by adding “CB & … a taste of peach.” The brand also designed an array of in-store and on-premise point-of-sale materials to promote the flavor extension.
