The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI), Reston, Va., announced the passing of Director of Expositions A.J. Janosko, who passed away June 23 as the result of an accident over the weekend. He was 45 years old.
Janosko joined PMMI in August 2012 to fill a newly created position handling much of the day-to-day show management, the institute notes.
“It didn’t take long for him to become an integral member of the PMMI staff,” said PMMI President and Chief Executive Officer Charles Yuska in a letter to the industry media.
“When he came on board, A.J. told exhibitors to expect three things from him: Commitment, trust and respect,” Yuska continued. “He lived up to that promise with PMMI members and Pack Expo exhibitors in every possible way. Here at the office, we’ve lost a member of the PMMI family. A.J. will be sorely missed, and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”
Janosko is survived by his wife, Tracy, and two sons, Andrew and Jackson.
A wake will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at Advent Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 7211 Lee Highway in Falls Church, Va. Mass of Christian burial will take place Wednesday, July 2, at 2 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, located at 905 Park Avenue in Falls Church, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the Janosko family requests that donations be made to the A.J. Janosko Education Trust, a fund to benefit his sons. For more information, visit www.ajjanoskoeducationtrust.org.
